The following are sites that can be helpful to both parent and teacher of autism children:

We believe that when we share the good in each other, amazing things can happen!

May we continue to seek knowledge in all things,

Unlock the Teacher Steps out to Support Finding a Cure for Diabetes

We love supporting the good in the community!

We had a wonderful night last night at one of our client’s, Changez Salon fundraiser for Diabetes.  The silent auction items were wonderful and every time a donation was made to diabetes, the donor got to choose a Merle Norman cosmetic gift.  The raisin lip liner is fabulous!

Some of the sponsors for the silent auction items were Leon and Lulu (a wonderfully red tote) and Eisenhower Dance Ensemble (two tickets to Detroit Passport for the Arts 2011/2012 season).  Stella and Dot also had a wonderful display of their jewelry and Mark was down stairs in the studio giving complimentary messages.

Trisha was on vacation at Myrtle beach, and Sue and I were in town and decided to stop by and lend our support.  We love the fact that this salon sponsors at least one charity a month to support. When we all come together for a common good, amazing things can happen!

May we continue to seek knowledge in all things,

“It Couldn’t Be Done” by Edgar A. Guest…Denise Ball’s Favorite Motivational Poem

It Couldn’t Be Done
Somebody said that it couldn’t be done,
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it.
Somebody scoffed: “Oh, you’ll never do that;
At least no one ever has done it”;
But he took off his coat and he took off his hat,
And the first thing we knew he’d begun it.
With a lift of his chin and a bit of a grin,
Without any doubting or quiddit,
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it.
There are thousands to tell you it cannot be done,
There are thousands to prophesy failure;
There are thousands to point out to you, one by one,
The dangers that wait to assail you.
But just buckle in with a bit of a grin,
Just take off your coat and go to it;
Just start to sing as you tackle the thing
That “cannot be done,” and you’ll do it!
This is by far one of my favorite poems.  I find it so motivational in all aspects of my life…spiritually, physically and mentally.  I am sharing it with you today in hopes that you might share it to offer hope and insight for yourself or a child in your life.
I would love to know what poem moves you…please share with our Unlock the Teacher LLC readers your favorite poem and maybe it will bring a smile to someone in need of one today!
May we seek knowledge in all things,

Stop watching Cake Boss & Cupcake Wars and come to our 2011 1st Annual Pro-Am Baking Extravaganza to help celebrate our 5th birthday!

This is a baking contest like no other.  As an April Fool’s twist, all desserts entered not only be delicious, but also diabetic-friendly.

Amateur bakers, as well as professionals, will compete to win prizes.  Judges will be judging the overall appearance, taste & texture & diabetic-friendliness of each dessert, which will be served at Leon & Lulu’s 5th birthday party, a benefit for Jack’s Jaywalkers in support of American Diabetes Association‘s Step Out: Walk to Fight Diabetes.

One of our clients, Changez Salon is volunteering their time and talent for this event.  Unlock the Teacher LLC likes to promote the good in education and in industry and what a wonderful way to share the good tonight!

American Diabetes Association does so much good…come out and support their worthy cause.

Thank you Leon and Lulu, Changez Salon and American Diabetes Association  for always willing to lend a helping hand.

Three great examples of how when we all come together to do good, we achieve good!

Have a fabulous night tonight!
